In this second episode of Bones zone, Jax and Zen discuss Bones Season 1, Episode 2: The Man in the S.U.V. The ladies chat about what to do when a guest drops by the apartment of someone you’re sleeping with and how many beetles is too many beetles to fill a jar.
Episode 39 1/2: Vest Watch 2K19
Halloween is here! In this ep, Jason and Jax take a horror deep dive into Joker, Zombieland: Double Tap, Hereditary, Little Monsters, In the Tall Grass, and Ripper Street! They lighten the mood with Gary Gulman’s new standup special, The Great Depresh, and the bananas* documentary Three Identical Strangers.
*This documentary is not about bananas.
Other viewings: El Camino, Succession, The Righteous Gemstones, Killing Gunther, Shameless, The New Adventures of Batman, Criminal: UK, and the Happy Death Day movies.
Bones Zone: Session 1
The inaugural session of the extremely unnecessary offshoot podcast, Bones Zone! Why is it a session, you ask? Because this is basically a therapy session for Jax and Zen about the pilot episode of Bones: the outfits (that corset!), the hair (them bangsss), David Boreanaz’s hot bod! And in case you forgot, Bones is an orphan.
Episode 38: Timeless love (in vests!)
In this episode, Jason sees IT 2 and Jax immediately becomes anxious just thinking about it. They discuss Between 2 Ferns: the movie, the underrated Lego Movie 2, and their shared mourning over the loss of Phil Hartman in the recent documentary about him. Jason reassures the audience that yes, the movie Drive is still cool, and Jax fawns over many men in vests. Even the bad ones (men and vests).
Other viewings include: Origin Story, Elementary, Criminal UK, Three O’Click High, and Ad Astra.
Episode 37: "We're making money in these streets." -Steven Spielberg
Jax and Jason have a lot to catch up on in this episode—-both were comforted by the Deschanel sisters at some point (haven’t we all?) and let down by Good Boys. However, Jason’s able to harken back to a better time in the middle-school lunchroom when he discussed Batman Beyond with actual good boys. Jax slogged through (most of) an episode of Carnival Row but was pleasantly surprised by her newfound interest in Katy Perry. Jason was dazzled by the unique animation and interesting storytelling of Undone.
Other shows and movies discussed: Late Night, Take Point, Mindhunter, Triple Frontier, Sicario 2: Day of the Soldado, Mr. Right, Naked Director, This Way Up, Blade
Episode 36: The Bones Zone

We hold a funeral for the X-Men franchise as we discuss X-Men: Dark Phoenix. We explore the classic follies of going back home in Trainspotting 2. And we take a trip to the Bones Zone. What happens in the zone? Listen and find out!
Episode 35: We know drama.
In this episode, Jax is joined by Tom and Zen to discuss Once Upon A Time…In Hollywood, question Queer Eye Season 4, and celebrate Claws. The trio confesses to some of their more questionable viewing habits and wonder whether Tom Cruise isn’t onto something with this whole Scientology thing.
Episode 34: Whoa Steve, no Steve, go Steve!
In this episode, Jax and Jason take you on a soothing journey of summer viewing: Stranger Things Season 3, Spider Man: Far From Home, and Sword of Truth. They debate the sincerity of Aziz Ansari’s standup special, Right Now.
Other stuff they watched instead of going outside like normal people: Robin Hood, Hell or High Water, Death at a Funeral, The Terminator, Cyrus, Doom Patrol, Fleabag, and Contagion. …yes, we realize this is kind of a dark list.
