Episode 33: Stand by those thighs!

We’re back! Fresh from eating burgers and high-fiving fireworks displays, Jax and Jason jump into this episode with a blast from the past—-US Marshals, Burn After Reading, and the revived Men In Black franchise. Jax discusses the surprising flammability of The Professor and the Madman, and Jason describes the vengeful creator of Evangelion.

Also discussed: Bumblebee, The Upside, the tragedy magnet known as Marcella, and the delightful romp known as The Chef Show.

In addition to our voices, on this episode, the listener will hear: bird noises, cars, blaring radios, ominous-sounding construction. …we’re very sorry. But what a workout for the ears!

Episode 32: Building [Phoebe Waller-] Bridges

In this episode, Jax enthusiastically discusses Equilibrium, forcing Jason to relive a cruel deception of his past. Jason talks about Pokemon: Detective Pikachu, forcing Jax to realize that she’s much more of a Charizard. Jax waxes poetic about Fleabag, and Jason is impressed by Attack on Titan. The duo inadvertently torture each other with their assignments, Highlander and San Andreas.

Other topics include Gentleman Jack, Vice, and Doom Patrol.

Also, we know the audio is terrible. We done messed up. It’ll be fixed in the future!

Episode 31: Silence of the Lambs: feminist manifesto?

Jason. Is. Baaaack!!! Jason returns to co-host and help Jax remember actor names, bravely face her white-man blindness diagnosis, and remind her what the heck they were talking about in the first place. They discuss Rim of the World, Colony, and Jason’s disappointment with Terminator: Salvation and its lack of future war that it had promised. Both hosts fawn over Olivia Wilde’s directorial debut with Booksmart! And finally, Jax enjoys Silence of the Lambs for what it truly is. A horror classic? Nope. A story of feminism…and people masks.

Also discussed: Marcella, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Inception, Tron: Legacy, Good Omens, the garbage heap known as “The Hitcher”

Episode 29: Mrs. Tormund Giantsbane

On this week’s episode we’re joined by Jax’s bff, Meagan, holding down the fort until Jason returns. We discuss The Silence, aka the off-brand version of A Quiet Place. Then the ladies dive deep into Avengers: Endgame and examine the confusing feelings elicited by Tom Holland’s childish face and full-on man abs. Of course, Game of Thrones, season 8, episode 4 is dissected, deliberated, and probably predicted relatively inaccurately.

Other viewings include Dead to Me, Spider-Man Far From Home, and Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.

Episode 28: Five Podricks, please!

After a mini hiatus, we’re back at it again, and it’s a good one: Jax’s bff, Meagan, stops by to discuss Hellboy, The Sisters Brothers, and of course, Frasier. The gang then gets to the main attraction: Game of Thrones. Theories are formed, characters are lauded, and predictions are made. We wrap up with Jason’s thoughts on Apollo 13, a 24-year-old movie, because timeliness is overrated.

Other shows and movies discussed: First Man, Guava Island, Black Summer, One Punch Man, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.

(Apologies for the wonky audio, Meagan and I were sharing a microphone and also trying to dog sit a puppy at the same time.)
